One thing lead to another and to another until before I knew it i had subscibed to 18 feeds in 10 minutes! I am still thinking of adding more.
At this stage, I have focused on looking for feeds that will provide me with updates on world and local news as well as general interest stories and entertainment. Next I would like to search for feeds that relate to music, literature and art; especially travelling art and history exhibitions. I have not as yet searched for any library blogs, but I hope to get onto that next week.
RSS is a great asset to Libraries as it provides constant up to date information on any given topic quickly and effortlessly. It also facilitates communication between "library bloggers" who share similar interests.
Bye for now...

The next step...

My greatest desire is to visit countries such as China, Egypt and Greece that contain physical reminders of their ancient past. Initially our parents provide the framework for our understanding of this world and they teach us the skills we need in order for us to grow and mature into adults. Schools, libraries, museums and universities continue this learning process by providing acedemic structure to our learning. They show us what to learn, and how to analize what we have learnt. But where does the desire to commit to life long learning come from?
Some people are perfectly happy never reading anything more challenging than the local paper whereas others leave the library with a vast assortment of books on a wide range of subjects.
When I was 5 yrs old, I fell in love with my teacher. I thought that she was the most wonderful human being ever born in fact I did think for a while that she could be an angel. Why did she make such an impact on me? She taught me to read. I soon discovered the magical world of The Enchanted Wood by Enid Blyton and spent many hours lost in the never ending branches of the magical faraway tree. My love of learning has been shaped and encouraged over the years by many wonderful teachers, mentors and friends. I love process of learning, of gathering information from various sources and absorbing it all. My new learning passion Ancient China and I am quite tempted to learn the language.
So for me learning is addictive, the more I learn the more I realise I don't know. What a challenge!!
Bye

This is it so far..

I created my first blog a few days ago and during that time I have been trying to think of something brilliant and highly entertaining to say.....nothing!
I think I need some coffee.
Bye for now
